PierianDx Names New Additions to Sales and Clinical Genomic Solutions Teams
PierianDx announced today two key additions that will expand the organization’s reach into health systems and global markets while deepening clinical expertise.
BG Jones has been named Senior Vice President of Business Development and will lead the expansion of PierianDx’s clinical genomics platform into health systems in the U.S. and global markets while cultivating partner relationships. Shalini Verma, MD, FCAP, has been named Laboratory and Medical Director and will lead the growth of PierianDx’s Clinical Genomics Solutions, which includes lab services, validation services and interpretation services.
“BG is a great addition to our team and brings the expertise and relationships we need to advance our precision medicine solution into health systems,” said PierianDx founder Rakesh Nagarajan. “Shalini will provide the medical acumen needed to expand our validation, interpretation and lab services.” Jones has 23 years of experience in healthcare information technology with a focus on precision medicine, genomics, data interoperability, clinical decision support and patient engagement. Jones has led strategic business development and partnerships for software solution companies in the U.S. and global markets. Most recently Jones was the Vice President of Global Partner Alliances at Syapse, where he managed the partner ecosystem for their Precision Medicine Oncology solution. He is currently the Chair of the HIMSS Precision Medicine Work Group and an active member of the Global Alliance for Genomics Health and the Precision Medicine Coalition.
Dr. Verma is a member of the American Board of Pathology with board certifications in Molecular Genetic Pathology, Hematopathology and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She completed her fellowships and residency training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Weill Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York and the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles. She received her M.D. degree from the J.J.M. Medical College, India.
Dr. Verma has served as Senior Medical Director and Clinical Laboratory Director at various large clinical laboratories and diagnostic companies including GE-Clarient Diagnostic Services, Roche Molecular Systems and Roche Sequencing Services.
She continues to pursue independent and collaborative research in Hematopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology. Her work has been published in prominent peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been selected for presentation at various national and international forums.
